Our good friends/neighbors/realtor, Max and Yuri, love to show us around Japan and give us true Japanese experiences! They wanted to go to Kitakyushu (last city in Kyushu, our island) to go the fish market for lunch. The fish market is actually in Honshu, across the bridge from Kitakyushu. It's about a one hour drive from Fukuoka. We enjoyed looking at all of the fresh seafood and picking out just the right sashimi and other seafood. Once we picked out our lunch, we sat at a table in the fish market and enjoyed our food together.
Max insisted that he pay for us (very cheap, don't worry!) to get charactures made of all of us. The end results were SCARY, especially of me!!! I'm really NOT that evil, I promise!
After lunch, we walked along the boardwalk and took silly pictures.
We visited an old Japanese garden and enjoyed walking around and feeding the fish.
Our last stop before heading back to Fukuoka was at the bridge look out point so we could stand on Honshu and have our picture taken with Kyushu in the background. Max loved using our camera and taking pictures of us! Thanks for a fun outing, Max and Yuri!
